IPL Hair Removal

Medical device with a touchscreen monitor, labeled Nordlys, situated next to an examination table in a clinic room.

Nordlys’ IPL handsets use short bursts of light to target the melanin found in the hair follicle. The absorbed light becomes heat, which travels down the hair shaft and damages the hair follicle, slowing and reducing hair growth over time. Multiple sessions are needed because hair grows in cycles, and IPL is most effective in the active growth phase

  • The area may be red and warm to the touch
